Brussels will host the European Week of Regions and Cities on the 12-15 October 2020. The main themes for this year are Green EuropeCohesion and Cooperation and Empowering Citizens.

"The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance".

This week is organised every year to "discuss common challenges for European regions and cities and to exchange ideas on possible solutions". Apart from that, EU Regions Week aims to exchange experience and good practices between those responsible for implementing EU cohesion policy instruments. It's an event in which cooperation is facilitated and there are many opportunities for networking.

European, national, regional and local government experts on evaluating cohesion policy programmes; representatives of private companies, financial institutions and European associations;
members of the European institutions; national, regional and local politicians; citizens with an interest in the future of Europe, regions and cities; academics and researchers in European regional and urban policy and media can participate in the events.
