24 January 2019 - DEUDCC  project
Over forty cities participating in the Digital Cities Challenge (DCC) will come together in Algeciras (Spain) on 29 and 30 January 2019, for the fourth academy seminar. Participating cities will gather in the port city for the next stage of the programme, which is to identify, plan and fund the actions and projects that will accomplish the cities’ digital strategies.

Co-hosted with Federación Andaluza de Municipios y Provincias, the European Commission has developed an attractive two-day agenda including presentations from the Directorate‑General for: Economic and Financial Affairs; Regional and Urban Policy; and Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs; with an opening and closing speech from Dana Eleftheriadou, Head of Advanced Technologies Team in the European Commission.

On day one of the seminar, Colm Mc Colgan, ERNACT General Manager, will represent the city of Derry-Londonderry (a fellow city in the DCC programme) when subgroups peer review the proposed strategies and roadmaps. The city's strategy, which was generated through the efforts of Derry City and Strabane District Council, ERNACT and city stakeholders participating in local workshops, will be presented for peer review before moving on to identifying, planning and funding projects that will help accomplish the strategy.
