The European cooperation programmes operating within the Arctic have decided to work more closely together and create 'Arctic Cooperation'. This cross-programme collaboration is mandated by the European Commission and coordinated by the Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme 2014-2020 with the participation of Interreg Botnia-Atlantica, Interreg Nord, Kolarctic CBC and Karelia CBC programmes.

NPA has announced now the 2nd Arctic Project Clustering Call. The objective is to support the implementation of macro-regional and sea-basin strategies, to ensure better implementation of the cooperating projects, more efficient use of the funding, better results and wider dissemination of the results. According to Christopher Parker, Programme Manager for Project Development Support at NPA, "clustering activities can take place between projects from different cooperation programmes dealing with the same theme or projects that are addressing the same territorial challenges".

  • Application call period: December 1st 2018 to April 30th 2019.
  • 7 clustering themes: innovation, entrepreneurship, circular economy, tourism, energy efficiency, environment and cultural and natural heritage.
