07 June 2018 - SAFER  project
SAFER - Smart Atlantic Seafood Clusters - partners are meeting in Cantabria (Spain) on 13th and 14th June. This meeting, hosted by the Regional Government of Cantabria and with the collaboration of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe, will serve to present the project to the regions attending the General Assembly of the Atlantic Arc Commission with a clear vision of disseminating project progress and expected results to the relevant working groups and stakeholders.

The 2-day programme of activities also includes site visits where partners will have the opportunity to see unique facilities like the Environmental Hydraulics Institute "IHCantabria", a joint research center that carries out research, knowledge transfer and training of specialists in the fields of fresh and saltwater; the aquaculture plant of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography focused in fish with experimental modules and industrial production; and the Marine Corrosion Test Site “El Bocal”, a Marine Laboratory located at the shoreline to test, study and analyze the behaviour of different materials and coatings against marine biofouling and corrosion. The programme is completed with the 1st Steering Committee meeting where partners will review project progress and next steps.
