ERNACT secures €2.8 million to Develop and Improve Healthcare 5.0 Policies

The
ERNACT network
is delighted to announce that we have secured
€2.8 million
from
Interreg Europe
with the recent approval of the
HUMAN
(Healthcare 5.0 supporting the transformative shift of regions)
project
. HUMAN seeks to deliver more user-centric, sustainable, and resilient healthcare services through innovative Healthcare 5.0 solutions.
Commenting on the announcement, ERNACT International Management Committee Chairperson,
Prof. Dr Andrej Kos
, stated that
"this funding is a testament to the strength of our partnerships and aligns with ERNACT’s mission to build digital innovation and collaboration. We are eager to work alongside our esteemed partners to realise this ambitious and impactful vision. The overall objective of HUMAN is to provide affordable, accessible, equitable and resilient healthcare services by introducing Healthcare 5.0 solutions. These innovations will result from improved policy instruments across eight European regions."
Explaining the importance of the project,
Caitriona Strain, ERNACT General Manager,
highlighted that "
the HUMAN project responds to critical healthcare challenges, promoting collaboration between regions to develop solutions that are people-centred and future-ready. This initiative will ensure that healthcare policies are better aligned with citizens' needs and technological advancements.
"
The project led by
ERNACT (Ireland)
and involves several key European partners:
Härnösands Municipality
(Sweden),
Development Centre of the Heart of Slovenia
(Slovenia),
University of Ljubljana
(Slovenia),
Health Service Executive
(Ireland),
Switzerland Innovation Park
(Switzerland),
Nicosia Development Agency
(Cyprus),
Hof University of Applied Sciences
(Germany),
Central Danube Development Agency
(Hungary), and
the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Care
(Bosnia and Herzegovina). Additionally, the
Regional Development Agency South Banat
(Serbia) participates as a Discovery Partner, while the
University of Porto
(Portugal) acts as an Advisory Partner
.
This funding announcement comes after Interreg Europe’s monitoring committee conditionally approved 113 projects out of 206 applications submitted in the third call for proposals, which closed in June 2024.
