Members of the ERNACT Network convened in Brussels for the
second Interregional Management Committee meeting of 2024, held in the offices
of the Government of Cantabria. The primary aim of this gathering was to
develop comprehensive plans that would enable ERNACT cities and regions to
fully capitalize on expanded opportunities in digital transformation
cooperation.
The bi-annual IMC meeting focused on two key
objectives:
Agreeing on new digital technology proposals for development
over the next twelve months, setting the foundation for innovative projects
aimed at enhancing regional digital capabilities.
Reviewing the ongoing operation of the network, including
assessments of communications and financial management, to ensure its continued
robustness and sustainability.
Host, Inmaculada Valencia, Director of the Government of
Cantabria Brussel’s office welcomed the IMC members before handing over to Professor
Dr Andrej Kos, IMC Chairperson for the opening remarks and an overview of the
meeting.
A highlight of the event was an informative presentation
shared by Malgorzata Nikowska, Head of AI Innovation and Policy
Coordination Unit at the European AI Office. Her presentation provided valuable
insights into the latest developments in artificial intelligence, offering
guidance on how ERNACT regions can leverage AI to advance their digital
transformation efforts.
Members received an insightful Overview of EU Priorities in the field of
Digitalisation from Emilija Stojmenova.

calls.

Strain presented the finances and Leona McGee gave an update on communications.
