04 September 2024 - CIVITEC  project
ERNACT as part of the CIVITEC project is excited to welcome the Regional Development Agency of Ivano-Frankivsk Region (Ukraine) as a new partner. Since its founding in 2017, Regional Development Agency of Ivano-Frankivsk region has played a pivotal role in promoting the growth and development of the Ivano-Frankivsk region attracting investment, creating jobs, and supporting local businesses. Its expertise includes providing consultancy services for project grant support and promoting cross-border cooperation, including its role in the Romania-Ukraine Cross-Border Cooperation Program (2014-2020).

A key feature of the RDA Ivano-Frankivsk Region’s work is its focus on participatory democracy, ensuring that citizens are directly involved in the planning and decision-making processes of regional and local development.

As a discovery partner within the CIVITEC project, the RDA Ivano-Frankivsk Region will benefit from shared expertise and best practices in Civic Tech. Through this collaboration, the RDA Ivano-Frankivsk Region will have the opportunity to expand its capacity in managing interregional cooperation projects and strengthen its approach to fostering civic engagement in decision-making processes.

“We are honoured to join the CIVIC project as a new partner. Our cooperation will open up new opportunities for the development of our region, strengthening competencies, sharing best practices and to broaden our horizons. We believe that by joining forces with CIVITEC, we will not only gain new insights but also contribute to the advancement of civic innovation and regional development” - Tetiana Zbyrak, executive director of Regional Development Agency of Ivano-Frankivsk Region.

At the end of 2023, 7 EU candidate countries joined the Interreg Europe programme: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Ukraine, offering new opportunities to the projects and Policy Learning Platform. Since the first and second call projects were developed before these opportunities emerged, a new call allowed approved projects to extend their partnerships and collaborate with organisations from the newly added Partner States.

“We (the CIVITEC partners) are delighted to welcome the Regional Development Agency of Ivano-Frankivsk Region (Ukraine) in our projects’ consortium. We are looking forward to cooperating closely with them in two directions: a) for them to acquire knowledge of how an IE project and its exchange of experience process is being implemented and for the rest of the partners to get to know the new partners’ regional characteristics and status in relation with the project’s subject. We really hope that this initiative will be a first step for a long-term cooperation between our regionsEleftherios Loizou, CIVITEC lead partner from Nicosia Development Agency (ANEL).

We welcome Regional Development Agency of Ivano-Frankivsk Region to the CIVITEC project and look forward to a successful collaboration!
