€34 million budget allocated to develop a smart region in West Romania

A smart region supports the digitization of public administration and the development of smart city solutions for the benefit of citizens and businesses.

Through the West Regional Programme 2021-2027, core ERNACT member region West Romania supports the digital transformation of public administration and the development of pilot Smart City solutions for interaction with citizens and the business environment.

Over €34.12 million is the budget allocated to Priority 2 of the programme, for One Smart Region. What is being watched? On the one hand, the current use of digital and innovative technologies for interaction with citizens and the business environment. On the other hand, the development, testing and piloting of new or significantly improved e-government applications or digital services, as well as integrated management platforms and applications for accessing data and documents issued by several local institutions and services, platforms for digital document management and archives.

The Western Regional Programme 2021-2027 is the main financing tool from European funds that supports economic growth, improving the quality of life and sustainable development in the Western Region. The vision of this programme is to have a competitive region at European level, with a high level of research and development, innovation and digitalisation, capable of attracting and capitalizing on investments, connected internally and internationally, whose citizens benefit from services efficient public, in localities with a high quality of life.

The programme is managed by the West Regional Development Agency (core ERNACT member), which fulfills the role of Management Authority.
