The project commenced with a series of online workshops to test digital tools that can support the co-creation process. They served to The Public Link partners to experience and test different virtual collaboration platforms to co-create public services engaging with citizens through innovative and collaborative ways.
Based on them, the partners have selected the most suitable technology to develop some pilots like it is the case of
CTL Cantabria (Spain), which is focusing on a service to support users to easily find transportation information in the Santander Bus Station.
Transport hubs are key elements in the transport/tourism/mobility chain. Bus and Coach service count up to 90 % of public transport trips in Cantabria and it is the essential mode to get to the main tourist attractions. Main Bus Station (Santander) is the link between different transport modes (air transport, railway, ferryboat) and it is also the public building providing transport and tourist information as well as ticket selling facilities and smartcard reload and assistance public offices. As the main entrance gate of our region, it should be the digital intermodal transfer hub to both public transport services and tourist destinations.
The goal for this service is to create an AR (Augmented Reality) app to enable citizens and foreign visitors arriving to the city to navigate inside the bus station helping them to easily find the different desks and public offices either to buy tickets, reload smartcards, get tourist information, get public transport timetables, or just find their quay.
Stay tuned more information about other pilots soon!
