Description
The Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland, Gabriel Makhlouf, will attend a meeting in CoLab innovation hub in Letterkenny, Donegal, on 25th March 2022.
The purpose of the meeting is to be appraised of, and to discuss, Donegal's plans for ensuring the County (encompassing companies, communities and the public sector) makes a successful transition to the digital economy.
The Governor will meet with stakeholders who have been working together for a number of years to help realise the County's digital transformation goals. These include: Donegal County Council, Údarás na Gaeltachta, Atlantic Technological University, IDA, Enterprise Ireland (EI) and ERNACT
These agencies (substantial investors in constructing and operating the hubs) will engage with the Governor to discuss one successful aspect of Donegal's approach, the ongoing development of a network of digital innovation and remote working hubs to facilitate the new work patterns emerging as a result of COVID-19.
They will be joined in the discussion by a number of Donegal startups that use the hubs and by experienced professionals involved in creating functional innovation ecosystems around the hub network.
After welcome and introductions, a brief presentation of Donegal Digital will be made to the Governor, followed by the discussion with the senior representatives of the above organisations (see agenda below). The event will close with a tour of the CoLab innovation hub.
The meeting will be steered by Margaret Quinn, Programme Manager, ERNACT. Margaret has specific responsibility for Donegal Digital and she will be assisted by a number of her colleagues. Margaret will do her best to ensure all attendees get an opportunity to contribute within the short time available.
Coffee and tea will be available on arrival and a light buffet lunch will be served during the meeting.
