  4. Identify good practices, study visits and approaches that can be transferred to other regions in the CARPE DIGEM project consortium.

Description

The aim of the CARPE DIGEM project is to improve public policy support for stimulating digital innovation ecosystems in European regions and cities. The creation of such ecosystems is key to creating high quality jobs and new companies in a digitally transformed global business landscape.

The visit to North West Ireland will focus on the role of the 3rd level education sector, particularly in delivering high-end digital skills and diffusing its research and skills into local businesses, including multinational tech companies. Additionally the role of Digital Innovation Hubs as innovation tools will be explored.

Reflecting this focus, the visit mainly take place on the campuses of the crossborder area's 3rd level education campuses in Letterkenny and Derry~Londonderry. It will include study visits to key digital transformation research, innovation and digital hubs.

A highlight will be a discussion of the crossborder area's approach and plans to building the digital innovation ecosystem, involving the region's political, public and private leaders and representatives from the visiting CARPE DIGEM regions. The project's website in the region will also be officially launched.
