CLEAN Online Study Visit San Sebastian (7th Study Visit)
19 November 2020
14:00  - 16:00

Aim of Event

To find out more about the good practices and expertise in Fomento San Sebastián.

The 7th partner meeting of the CLEAN project will bring all nine partner regions together to discuss project activities and progress. This meeting was to be held in San Sebastián (Spain); and hosted by Fomento San Sebastián, however, due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, the partnership will meet in an online setting. Among others, hosting partners will organise a series of online study visits that will enable partners to visit some of the good practices that Fomento San Sebastián have identified as relevant for the CLEAN partnership:

Txomin SMART District
Txomin SMART District, is one of the last major urban developments in San Sebastián, which aims to become a SMART district reference thanks to consider the neighbourhood as a space for experimentation and pilot projects to test its replication potential in other areas of the city or in other cities. The neighbour with around 1070 inhabitants, and with 1500 new homes and 156 consolidated dwellings has become a testbed to deploy several smart-based initiatives in the fields of Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Mobility, ICT, Infrastructure and Citizen Participation.

Enertic Bioclimatic Building
Sustainable building with nearly zero emissions located on Polígono 27 and run by Fomento de San Sebastián. Enertic is a sectorial concentrator building with offices for companies focusing on the smart field, where co-creation and networking is fostered between companies related to the sector. The most noteworthy bioclimatic characteristics are found in the design of the building in order to obtain greater efficiency (bearing in mind the orientation, ventilation of the building, materials used...), as well as the use of renewable sources of energy to supply the building (geothermal, solar, wind, water reuse,...).

SmartKalea project
SmartKalea is the innovative initiative of Fomento de San Sebastián to establish a public-private collaboration model that integrates the different agents that coexist in a city environment from a Smart/sustainable perspective: citizenship, businesses, technological local companies and Municipal Departments, leaded by Fomento de San Sebastián. It consists on a pilot project based on Smart implementations to test and validate a comprehensive model for its expansion to other geographical areas and turn Donostia in a Smart City reference. The project, which began in Calle Mayor in 2014, also has a highly extensible replication model in other streets of the city, allowing its replication throughout the Old Town, Altza neighbourhood and Sancho el Sabio street.
