The aim of the project is to:

Help the project's regions to define the best model for developing Very High Speed Broadband infrastructures in their less populated areas.

Specific objectives are to:
  • Learn from the exchange of experiences in rollout High Speed Broadband (HSB) in rural areas.
  • Gain a better understanding of all the factors involved in the development of HSB networks.
  • Involve regional decision-makers in order to gain their support and commitment to implement HSB broadband.
  • Disseminate results of the project through a sustainable network of High Speed Broadband experts.

Nowadays there is a big change in the way of use of internet with anincreasing demand of higher capacity services which makes necessary thedevelopment of new High Speed Broadband Networks (HSB). This a key factor thatthe rural areas need to face in order to develop and sustain their economy and population.

ENGAGE will enable the participating regions to speed up the establishment and implementation of HSB policies, with full consideration ofthe significance and strategic importance of the next generation access networksand cost effective solutions.
