This three-year project was formed by Letterkenny Institute of Technology LYIT (School of Tourism) and Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM – Irish Sea Fisheries Board) in 2013 following a partnership agreement detailed in a signed Memorandum of Agreement between both parties. The agreement will be renewed in 2016.

The main aim of the project is to promote
seafood product development via links between culinary arts graduates’ seafood companies in Co. Donegal. The agreement has three main activities:
  1. Graduate placement in BIM’s Seafood Development Centre and six-month industry placement.
  2. Funding of 24 month Masters by research degree by BIM.
  3. Special projects involving supporting seafood companies in terms of research, product development and company management.
